Benefits of Instructing Yoga

Instructing Yoga is rewarding as it improves our personal sense of self in the universe, deepening our respect for others and in nature. Notably, it gives us the opportunity to serve others. Service is an essential part of Yoga called ‘Sewa’ in Sanskrit. Sewa is necessary for the awakening of higher awareness and going deeper to find our true spirit.

Teaching Yoga we continue our own journey of self improvement. With an increased understanding of Yoga in our own lives we are better able to help others in finding their right path; their ideal body weight, the physically impaired student to live a better quality life, as well as the student who leaves your class without the headache or backache they came in with.

We gain the ability to monitor our breath, posture, moods, diet, etc.  As we develop our personal yoga practice on a higher level as a Yoga instructor, we gain understanding on its effects on our body and mind to impede disease, to bring us a greater guidance when to share, when to help and when to be silent.

As a Yoga teacher, our continued practice guides us to personal inspiration; in turn we learn to inspire others to lead happier lives.

Teaching Yoga allows one to express the positive side of our personalities thereby helping us to override our negative traits. It gives one the confidence to impart openly our yogic knowledge.

It’s also about sharing. Sharing on a physical level by helping people to work on their bodies, sharing on a mental and emotional level by helping others to confront their unruly mind and gain a deeper understanding of how it functions, and sharing on a sublime level as you glance beyond the curtain of your conditioned everyday perception.

There are several aspects of Yoga that take a lifetime to develop, understand and transform with ourselves. With many directions in Yoga ones - areas of interest may be specialized or broadened increasing our areas of teaching.

Instructing Yoga improves our ability to give as yoga facilitates us to find solutions for ailments, fitness, stress and pain management, calming minds and connecting other to their higher selves and positive thinking.

As a Yoga instructor, one is able to earn a living whilst directly helping others.

On a continuum as a Yoga instructor one is honest, open and; honest with yourself and others, open to change and your own learning and alive to the harmony and to the energy that moves through you and the cosmos.

Instructing Yoga is about reawakening our senses, especially for the student who has become accustom to living in a world of working long hours, television, busy-ness that adds stress and leaves us drained for those they love and ourselves. Yoga is about balance, re-balancing and keeping grounded.

It is through the senses and our being one with nature that we gain a keen sense of intuition, sensitivity in knowing what is appropriate for a group or an individual in yoga.

Sharing as a Yoga Instructor the benefits of a Yogic life is increasingly necessary in our ever faster paced life. Where being still is considered negative and moving a positive; where children are given more and more responsibility; our creativity as humans, our contact with nature less and less. Yoga becomes progressively more precious.

As a Yoga Instructor one embraces the value of moving towards stillness, becoming the essence of stillness.

‘CLARITY RESIDES IN STILLNESS.’
